Brooklyn's 1st Pumpkin Patch Visit!

On October 17th, 2015 we took Brooklyn to the pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins to make Jack-o-Latnterns with.  Kedzie had to stay home, she got to go last year.  Brooklyn enjoyed looking at all the pumpkins and practicing her sitting skills by propping against them.

It was a good thing we had such a good morning because later that day things took a bad turn.  Brooklyn enjoyed watching most of her and coach Harbaugh's first UM vs. MSU game, but things turned sour in the last 10 seconds.  Brooklyn couldn't believe her eyes, even Aunt Emily said she couldn't be excited about winning that way.

Swimming! October 15, 2015

Brooklyn started swim classes at Goldfish Swim School in October.  Goldfish is a fun little location in a strip mall which used to be a CVS (random facts).  We thought Brooklyn would love swimming since she is basically a jubilant nut in a bathtub, but she takes her lessons very seriously.  She mostly looks around at the other kids.  She enjoys floating on her back looking at herself in the mirror the most.  Last week Brooklyn actually put her face in once and started kicking like she does in the bath.

Detorit Zoo Boo - October 11th, 2015

On Sunday October 11th we went to Zoo Boo at the Detroit Zoo with Uncle Rob, Aunt Steph, Paige, and Jacob.  Brooklyn had her first trick-or-treating experience.  It was so nice that we decided Brooklyn's costume would be too warm so she just wore festive halloween clothes.

Luke's 5th Birthday and Soccer Fun - 10/10 and 10/11

Luke turned 5 on 10/10/15!  We went over to Aunt Robin and Uncle Tim's house to celebrate.  Luke had a Star Wars themed party which Brooklyn thought was awesome!  Since it was close to Halloween and Michigan was playing football, Brooklyn wore a cheer leading outfit to the festivities

On Sunday the we went to see Luke and Anna play soccer, the whole family went, even Kedzie-dog!  It was a beautiful day and Brooklyn laying in the grass.  We even got to see Anna score a goal!
Later that day we went to Zoo-Boo (see additional post).  It was a busy, fun weekend!

Brooklyn's 2nd Trip Up North - Dock Removal October 2015

The 1st weekend in October was full of big family milestones for Brooklyn.  She made her 2nd trip up to Glen Arbor and participated (supervised/slept) in her 1st Dock Removal!

Other adventures from the trip include her 1st trip to Pyramid Point, shopping in downtown Traverse City, and a diaper change on a picnic table at a roadside Pasty stand.

Kedzie and Brooklyn on the car ride up....Kedzie does not enjoy sharing the backseat with Brooklyn

Brooklyn stretching out at the cottage upon arrival

We took the dock out shortly after we arrived so we could enjoy the rest of the weekend

On Saturday morning Mom and Aunt Emily did the Sleeping Bear 5K and Dad did the Half Marathon, Dad took 2nd place in his age group!

Later that day Brooklyn went shopping in downtown Traverse City with Aunt Emily, Nana, and Mom...it was exhausting!

Mom was very sad that during Brooklyn's 1st trip up north this summer she didn't make it to Pyramid Point, but she got to go this time and we took lots of family pictures where Mom and Dad got engaged (Kedzie came too!)
