Brooklyn's 1st Road Trip - Glen Arbor/Lewiston 4th of July week 2015

Brooklyn's family goes to Glen Lake for at least 1 week every year.  This year was extra special because it was Brooklyn's first road trip and overnight stay outside of the house.  She was only 6 weeks old which made things a little tricky for Mom and Dad (specifically the packing) but we survived and everyone had a blast, especially Kedzie.

It took a lot to get a 6 week old and her puppy up north, an SUV and pick up truck to be exact
 

 As soon as we got up north we relaxed on the deck.  Brooklyn also enjoyed some relaxing tummy time at the cottage and Kedzie joined in on the fun.

We took a break from the warm weather and drove to the ice rink in Traverse City to watch the Red Wings' prospect camp.  This was also Brooklyn's first time in an ice rink and she found the experience to be very relaxing....
 

...in fact, Brooklyn found the entire trip to be rather relaxing.


 

On one of the days of our trip we drove across state to Lewiston so Brooklyn could meet Great Grandma Rife.  She also met Great Uncle Jay and Aunt Patty and enjoyed her 1st boat ride on their pontoon.  It was a great day!

 

Mom tried her hand at drinking again on this trip.  We stopped at many places including Tandem Ciders which is a family favorite!
 

 



 On Thursday we rented a pontoon boat so Brooklyn and Kedzie could join us for a ride

Brooklyn had her first visit to a beach and Lake Michigan on the last day of our trip

 It was also Kedzie's 1st time to the beach and Lake Michigan

Brooklyn's first dip in Lake Michigan - 7 weeks old!

She screamed very loudly and other beach goers seemed entertained.

All and all we had a great week and were sad to leave
